Air Force Falls to No. 21 Northwestern, 28-15

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Competing in its first dual meet of the 2013-14 season, the Air Force wrestling team dropped a 28-15 decision to 21st-ranked Northwestern Friday evening at Legacy High School.
The Falcons picked up a victory in the first match of the night, with 10th-ranked Josh Martinez (Colorado Springs, Colo.) earning a 7-3 decision at 125 pounds. However, the Wildcats registered wins in the next three matches, recording a decision, a major decision and a fall, to take a 13-3 lead in the team scoring.
Air Force got back on the board with a win at 157 pounds, with 15th-ranked Josh Kreimier (Sr., Fort Collins, Colo.) notching a fall in his first action of the season. After dropping a close decision at 165 pounds, the Falcons were able to cut their margin to 16-15 with a fall from sophomore Konner Witt (Oak Harbor, Ohio). However, Northwestern closed out the dual with three straight wins to secure the team victory.
The Falcons return to action Sunday, Nov. 10, when they host Stanford in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
