Boosted by three technical falls, the Air Force wrestling team picked up a 31-9 victory over Portland State Sunday at Northern Colorado. The Falcons move to 3-10 on the season, while the Vikings fall to 1-11.

After Air Force picked up six points for a Portland State forfeit at 125 pounds, junior Zach Valdez (Parker, Colo.) , wrestling up a weight class at 133, extended the Falcons' lead with a tech fall. The Vikings took the decision at 141 pounds, but Bridger Lord (Sr., Missoulal Mont.) gave Air Force another score with a 12-0 major decision at 149. Senior Zach Lord (Missoula, Mont.) continued the Falcons' scoring with a 6-0 decision at 157 pounds.

While junior Tony Dorward (Seattle, Wash.) dropped a close 5-4 decision at 165 pounds, giving up the extra point for riding time, sophomore Stephen Crozier (Monona, Iowa) extended Air Force's lead to 21-6 with an 8-3 decision at 174 pounds. Portland State was able to get another decision at 184 pounds, but the Falcons closed out strong in the final two weight classes, getting tech falls from Jordan Tribble (So., Midwest City, Okla.) and Anthony Stegeman (Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio).

The Falcons are back in action this weekend, Feb. 3, when they host the All-Academy Championships.
