Air Force Defeats Cal State Fullerton, 23-10

FULLERTON, Calif. - Winning seven of 10 bouts, the Air Force wrestling team earned a 23-10 victory over host Cal State Fullerton Friday evening at Titan Gym. With the win, the Falcons move to 6-2 on the season, while the Titans fall to 1-7 on the year.
Air Force opened the dual with a win at 125 pounds, as senior Andrew Zwirlein (Nashotah, Wis.) earned an 8-4 decision over Andre Gonzalez. Fullerton responded with a decision at 133 pounds to tie the match at 3-3, but the Falcons regained the lead with a 9-1 major decision from 10th-ranked Cole VonOhlen (Jackson, Minn.) in the 141-pound bout.
Again, the Titans were able to tie the team score with a major decision victory in the next match, but the Falcons pulled away, earning five straight victories to clinch the team victory.
Clayton Gable (So., Dallastown, Pa.) scored a major decision at 165 pounds, while Alec Williams (Jr., Fultondale, Ala.), Joseph Stafford (Sr., Loomis, Calif.), Josh Mohr (So., Pewaukee, Wis.) and Neil Delaney (Sr., Grand Rapids, Mich.) won decisions in their respective weight classes.
The Falcons are back in action tomorrow at the Cal Baptist Duals, as they face the host Lancers and Menlo.
