Water Polo Assistant Coach Separating From Air Force
The Falcons water polo team is preparing to bid farewell to their assistant coach, Capt. Neil McCafferty, who will be separating this month from the Air Force. Captain Neil McCafferty is a 1993 Air Force Academy graduate and assistant coach for the Academy's water polo team where he just finished his third season. He also earned a master's of business administration (MBA) from Wayland Baptist University. McCafferty has spent his career assigned as a contracting officer. He has negotiated and administered contracts varying from multi-million dollar construction projects at Reese Air Force Base to foreign military sales of the SH2G Helicopter to Egypt while stationed at Defense Contract Management Command Hartford, Conn. While at the Academy, McCafferty was a four-year varsity water polo letterman. As a sophomore in 1990, he was a member of the sixth Air Force team to compete in the NCAA Championship Tournament. He stands 18th in all-time Academy scoring and played on the 1991 Olympic Sports Festival Team. He is married to Carolyn Natale of Newton, Mass.
