LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Air Force senior water polo player Josh Stedman has been named the K7 WWPA Player of the Week following his performance in three road games for the Falcons Oct. 18-20. Stedman is the second Falcon to earn conference player of the week honors this season, joining sophomore goalkeeper Caleb Guarino.
A native of Brea, Calif., Stedman was the Falcons' leading scorer in games against No. 18 Cal Baptist, Pomona-Pitzer and No. 9 Pepperdine, registering seven goals, two assists and two steals for the weekend. Stedman, who moved into 11th place on the Falcons' career scoring list, posted his best performance in Air Force's lone victory of the weekend, tallying five goals in the Falcons' 15-12 win over Pomona-Pitzer. He now ranks11th on Air Force's career scoring list with 233 points (169g, 64a) and needs just seven more points to break into the top 10. He is also just seven goals short of becoming one of the top five goal scorers in Air Force history.
The 20th-ranked Falcons are back in action this weekend with two road WWPA contests, visiting 12th-ranked UC San Diego on Friday, Oct. 25, while facing No. 13 Loyola Marymount on Sunday, Oct. 27.
