Air Force Returns to Action at No. 10 LMU, Concordia Invitational

The Air Force water polo team is back in action this weekend, Oct. 16-17, visiting 10th-ranked Loyola Marymount in a WWPA contest, while also taking part in the Concordia Invitational, being held at Golden West College. The Falcons face LMU at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while playing Redlands in the first game of the tournament at 3:40 p.m. Air Force wraps up the weekend Sunday with an 11:40 a.m. contest versus Fresno Pacific.
Last Time Out... Senior captain Bobby Geiger led the Falcons' offense, scoring 10 goals and two assists on the weekend. Geiger registered a game-high five goals in Air Force's win over Fordham, while tallying all three of the Falcons' scores against UC Irvine. Meanwhile, junior goalkeeper Danny Harold registered 42 saves on the weekend, inlcuding a season-best 13 stops versus the Anteaters.
Scouting the Falcons... Senior Bobby Geiger leads the team with 40 points on the season, including a team-best 33 goals. Freshman Josh Stedman is second on the team with 24 points (17g, 7a), while senior Kurt Wallin has registered a team-high 16 assists.
Scouting the Lions...
LMU is coached by John Loughran, in his 14th year at the helm of the program. Edgaras Asajavicius and Tibor Forai lead the Lions' offense this season with 28 goals each, while All-American goalkeeper Andy Stevens has registered 109 saves on the year.
Scouting the Bulldogs... Redlands is coached by Tom Whittemore, in his 23rd year at the helm of the program. Among the leaders for the Bulldogs is returning All-American Brendan Meaney.
Scouting the Sunbirds... Fresno Pacific is coached by Bryan Suhovy, in his fourth season at the helm of the program.
Series Records... Air Force holds a 22-9 advantage in its series with Redlands, including two wins over the Bulldogs in 2009. This weekend's meeting between Air Force and Fresno Pacific will be the first-ever in the series.
In the Record Books... Meanwhile, Geiger also ranks among the top-five goal scorers in school history, as his 180 career goals rate as the fourth-most at the Academy.
