The 2002 edition of USAFA Water Polo makes it next stop at the Slugfest Tournament this weekend at UC Santa Cruz.

The Falcons will be playing five conference games and we look to come away with five conference wins! Our team is currently 2-1 in conference competition and we are looking forward to leaving with an even greater win mark this weekend.

Our goal is to work towards a top seeding at the Western Water Polo Association conference championships later this fall. Wins this weekend will put us in a very good position entering the tournament.

The team has high aspirations and all of us feel we will be very competitive behind a revamped counterattack under the guidance of Coaches Jeff Ehrlich and Capt. Brain Pendergast.

Our team returns two seniors on the traveling squad as well as several underclassmen starters from last year. The current group of players has been playing together for almost three years now and we are hungry to take home the Slugfest trophy as well as The WWPA championship.

The team was quoted as saying, "we know we are champions, we just have to go out and show everybody we are."
