Two Falcons earn academic all-WWPA honors

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Two Air Force water polo players were named to the Western Water Polo Association all-academic team, as announced today by the league office.

Junior utility Riley Thomas (Laguna Beach, Calif.) and sophomore goalkeeper James Rydjeski (Newport Beach, Calif.) were both honored for their work in the class room. Thomas was named to the team for the second straight year while Rydjeski was honored for the first time.

To be eligible for WWPA All-Academic honors, a player must have competed in at least 50 percent of his team’s games during the current season, carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better, be classified as a full-time student for all terms of attendance, and have completed a minimum of one semester or two quarters at his institution.
