Air Force Wraps Up Weekend at LMU Spring Invitational

    LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Air Force water polo team competed at the Loyola Marymount Spring Invitational April 8-9, posting a 1-2 record on the weekend.

    On Friday evening, the Falcons faced the host Lions, the reigning WWPA champions. After battling to a 9-9 tie in regulation against LMU, Air Force dropped a 12-10 decision. Sophomore Brad Rajchel was the leading scorer for Air Force with four goals, while Dillon Fisher and Josh Stedman added two goals each. Also scoring for the Falcons were Andrew Hamilton and Cruz Smithson with one goal apiece. Meanwhile, sophomore Mike Fish tallied 11 saves with 11 goals against.

    On Saturday morning, Air Force played an exhibition contest against the Mira Costa Masters team, coming up short in an 8-7 loss. Fisher and Hamilton each scored two goals to lead the Falcons, while Smithson, Rajchel and Stedman each added a goal. In the net, Danny Harold tallied six stops and two steals.

    The Falcons closed out their weekend with a 10-7 victory over Cal Baptist. Smithson was Air Force's leading scorer, tallying three goals, while Hamilton added two scores. Also getting on the board for the Falcons were Rajchel, Brad Duncan, Mike Radosevich, Fisher and Stedman. Meanwhile, Fish had an impressive performance in goal, recording 18 blocks in the game.
