SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Top-seeded UC Davis built an early 5-2 lead en route to a 17-8 win over Air Force in the semifinals of the Western Water Polo Association Championships, Saturday, Nov. 18, in San Diego, Calif. UCD opened the scoring just 37 seconds into the game, but the Falcons quickly answered on Justin Harrison’s goal at 6:00. The Aggies scored the next two, but Air Force’s Riley Thomas scored on the power play at 3:32 to make the score 3-2. UC Davis scored the next five goals for an 8-2 lead before Empey scored at 4:21 of the second. UCD sandwiched a couple goals around Harrison’s second of the game as the Aggies had an 11-4 lead at the half.
