MALIBU, Calif. - Outscored 8-2 in the second half, the 19th-ranked Air Force water polo team dropped a 12-7 road decision to No. 9 Pepperdine on Sunday.

Leading the way for the Falcons were Andrew Hamilton (Sr., Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and Dominic Vicino (Jr., Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) with two goals each.

Air Force was first to get on the board, as Hamilton found the back of the net less than a minute into the contest. However, the Waves took the lead with three straight scores and held a 3-2 advantage at the end of the opening period.

Pepperdine went on to notch the first goal of the second quarter, but the Falcons responded with goals from Hamilton, Zack Kamai (So., Irvine, Calif.) and Andy Santala (So., Aliso Viejo, Calif.) to earn a 5-4 lead at the intermission.

The Waves were able to regain control after the break, going back on top with three straight goals. While Vicino's score in the final minute of the third quarter brought Air Force back within one, Pepperdine pulled away in the final stanza, tallying four scores in the first three minutes of the period en route to the 12-7 victory.

The Falcons (5-9) are back in action next weekend for a pair of conference contests on the road, visiting UC San Diego on Oct. 25 and Loyola Marymount on Oct. 27.
