U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Seniors Riley Thomas and Justin Harrison each scored three goals to lead Air Force to a 12-8 win over Loyola Marymount in a Western Water Polo Association game, Friday, Oct. 13, at the Cadet Natatorium. With the victory, the Falcons earned their first conference win of the season, improving to 5-10 overall and 1-1 in the league.

After two LMU goals, the Falcons tied the game as Jack Empey and Harrison scored late in the first quarter. The Lions re-gained the lead with 29 seconds left in the opening period at 3-2. The teams traded goals early in the second before the Lions scored pair for a 6-4 lead with 3:03 left in the half. Harrison, Ryan Dorris and Thomas all scored late in the second to tie the game at 7-7.

Thomas and Luke Andres scored early in the third for a 9-7 lead. After an LMU goal, George Millard put the Falcons up 10-8 after three. The fourth quarter was all Air Force as Thomas and Campbell Harris scored and the Falcons kept the Lions of the board for the 12-8 win.

Air Force out-shot LMU, 30-28, in the game. Freshman goalie James Burke made nine saves for the Falcons.

The Falcons will travel to California for a pair of games against UC San Diego (Oct. 20) and Concordia (Oct. 22).
