1st Lt. Kirk Reimer begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Air Force water polo program. Reimer, a 2004 Academy graduate, returns to USAFA from his last duty station at Randolph AFB in San Antonio, Texas. As a cadet, Reimer played as a strong 2-meter offensive player, recording many goals and assists in the water while being a standout team leader out of the water during his four-year tenure from 2000 to 2003. A four-year letterwinner and three-year starter, Reimer helped lead Air Force's highest ranked team of the last eight years during his senior campaign. Reimer set the Falcon Club records for absolute power (875 watts) and still holds the record for shot speed (50 mph). Reimer's immediate coaching goals are to raise the three D's of the Falcon Water Polo program that he deems essential to any team success: discipline, dedication and determination. During his high school years, Reimer began to attain his full and impressive athletic profile as a three-sport, nine varsity letterwinner in water polo, basketball and volleyball. His teams achieved tremendous success to include CIF-SS finalist both in water polo (1997) and basketball (2000), as Reimer earned team captain and MVP accolades, along with many other individual honors. After earning his bachelor's degree in math and physics and being commissioned from USAFA in 2004, Reimer entered the USAF as an acquisitions officer and analytical scientist. While at Randolph AFB, Reimer served as the program manager for the Pilot Candidate Selection Method program and as the chief of optimization and simulation modeling for AETC's Studies and Analysis Squadron. He earned his master's degree in industrial engineering/operations research from St. Mary's University in 2007. Reimer is happily married to his wife of three years, Amanda, and they now reside in Monument, Colo. |
