Falcons Open Mountain Region Tournament on Wednesday

    The Air Force men's tennis team will send six players to the ITA Mountain Region Championships in Las Vegas, Nev., beginning Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Darling Tennis Center. The Falcons will join players from 15 other schools in the region for the five-day tournament.

    Seniors Austin Francis and Brett Rodgers, junior Taylor Soster, sophomore Cody Hall and freshmen Lance Wilhelm and Stephen Katrein will participate in the singles competition. Wilhelm enters the tournament with the team's best record at 4-3. Katrein follows at 3-3.

    Francis and Katrein will pair up as one doubles team. They own a team-best 5-3 record so far this fall. Hall and Wilhelm will also play together as will Rodgers and Soster.

    The other Mountain Region teams joining the Falcons in Las Vegas are BYU, Boise State, Denver, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, UNLV, Utah, Utah State and Weber State.
