Falcons Play at Lobo Balloon Fiesta Classic This Weekend

    The Air Force men's tennis team continues its 2011 fall season this weekend as 11 Falcons travel to Albuquerque, N.M., to compete in the Lobo Balloon Fiesta Classic. The three-day tournament begins Friday, Oct. 7 at the Lobo Tennis Center. Joining Air force and host New Mexico at the tournament are Northern Arizona, New Mexico State, Arizona, Western New Mexico, Colorado State-Pueblo and New Mexico Military Institute.

    Junior Lance Wilhelm is the No. 2 seed in the men's singles draw and pairs with freshman Grant Taylor to form the tournament's top-seeded doubles team. The duo will open the tournament at 9 a.m. Friday against Ian Honila and Zack Romero of NMMI, while Wilhelm opens singles play at 10:15 a.m. Friday against Mike Pigou of Arizona.

    The other doubles combinations for Air Force include sophomore Alex Grubbs and freshman Landon Kinsey, sophomores Andy Jackson and Ali Rizvi, sophomore Steven Young and freshman Joey Brandt and juniors Stephen Katrien and Vinni Lodolo. Senior Mike Tope will play in the singles event in place of Jackson.
