Shannon Buck wins feature match at AFA Invitational

Air Force sophomore Shannon Buck won the highlighted match during day two of the Air Force Tennis Invitational Saturday at the Academy. Buck, ranked 45th in the NCAA Division I preseason rankings, defeated No. 37 Mark Dietrich of Tennessee, 6-4, 6-3.
Three other Falcons, senior Justin Mancinelli and sophomores Trevor Johnson and Martin Black also won on Saturday. Mancinelli beat Jason Tan of Denver, 6-3, 6-3, Johnson defeated Hans Peter Gaber of Denver, 7-5, 6-3 and Black won his third three-set match of the weekend, 6-7, 6-4, 10-4 over Brian West of Denver.
Air Force senior Tyler McClung lost a tough three-setter to Nejc Smole of DU, 6-7, 6-1, 10-5, while junior Chris Dong dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision to Rawl Martin of Tennessee. Viktor Zetterholm, Niko Popovic and Bryce Coward also won singles matches on Saturday.
In doubles, Air Force's No. 1 team of Buck and McClung beat Gaber and West, 8-6, while Mancinelli and Johnson defeated Tan and Popovic, 6-4. Dong and Black lost to DU's No. 1 team of Smole and Zetterholm, 8-1.
The Invitational concludes on Sunday with another round of singles and doubles.
