The Air Force men's tennis team kicks off its 2013-14 season on Wednesday, August 28 with the fourth annual Blue-Silver intrasquad match, beginning at 3 p.m., at the USAFA outdoor varsity courts. The team will be divided into two squads and play a dual match, which is free and open to the public.
"This is our fourth consecutive year to start our season with the Blue-Silver scrimmage and it is the only time to see our team compete on campus in the fall as our four tournaments are all on the road," said Air Force head coach Dan Oosterhous. "We have a great group of senior leaders on our team that will make this a very special year. We'd love to have a lot of folks come out to see the quality of our players and show off their talents."
The Blue team consists of seniors Steven Young, Alex Grubbs and Alex Lineberry and freshmen Nicholas Carpenter, Lucas Fumagalli and Dillon Launius. The Silver team will be seniors Andy Jackson and Ali Rizvi, juniors Grant Taylor and Landon Kinsey and sophomores Jack McCullers and Andrew Parks. Freshman Mark Kite will not play due to an injury.
Air Force opens the 2013 fall season at the Milwaukee Classic, a three-day tournament beginning Friday, Sept. 13 in Milwaukee, Wis.
