    Air Force tennis player Mike Tope has been selected to receive a 2010-11 Scholar-Athlete Award from the Mountain West Conference. A total of 581 student-athletes, including 51 from the Air Force Academy, received the highest academic honor bestowed by the conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in an NCAA-sponsored sport.

    Tope, who will be a senior this fall, has a 3.65 cumulative GPA and is majoring in management. The Colorado Springs native played five singles matches and three doubles matches this past season. This is the third consecutive year Tope has received the Scholar-Athlete award from the conference.
