    Steven Young of the Air Force men's tennis team has been named to the 2011 Academic All-Mountain West team. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team. This is the first academic all-conference honor for Young, who will be a sophomore in the fall of 2011.

    Young, from Knoxville, Tenn., finished second on the team this past season with 15 overall singles victories. He was 10-10 in dual matches, including a 6-4 mark at the No. 6 spot. His 10 dual match wins tied for second on the squad. Young recorded a 3.33 cumulative GPA in civil engineering in his first season at Air Force.

    A total of 732 student-athletes, including 60 from the Academy, were named to the spring 2011 Academic All-Mountain West team. Spring sports include baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's track and field.
