Falcons Play Three in California This Weekend

    The Air Force men’s tennis team travels to California for three matches this weekend. The Falcons, 12-5 overall and 0-2 in the Mountain West this season, will play the University of the Pacific on Friday, April 4 at 2 p.m., UC Davis on Saturday, April 5 at 11 a.m., and Mountain West foe Fresno State on Sunday, April 6 at 11 a.m. All starting times are Pacific Time.

    Air Force is in the midst of a three-match losing streak after starting the season at 12-2. A tough 4-3 loss to Northern Arizona on March 21 preceded a 6-1 loss to UNLV on March 23.

    Senior Alex Grubbs continues to lead the team with 15 singles victories, followed closely by sophomore Andrew Parks (14) and senior Steven Young (13). Grubbs and Parks have each won a team-high 12 dual matches.

    In doubles, Grubbs and sophomore Jack McCullers continue to shine. The duo is 12-3 this spring, including a 3-1 record at the No. 1 position and a 9-2 mark at the No. 2 spot. Junior Grant Taylor and freshman Lucas Fumagalli are 10-4 this spring and sport a 9-3 record at the No. 3 spot. The Falcons are winning their doubles matches at a 67.3 percent clip this spring.
