AFA's Win Streak Snapped by South Florida, 4-3


    South Florida's men's tennis team snapped Air Force's seven-match winning streak Saturday with a 4-3 victory over the Falcons in Tampa, Fla. With the defeat, Air Force is now 15-4 this season, while South Florida improved to 6-11.
    AFA started out stroing, winning the doubles point with victories at the Nos. 1 and 2 positions. Junior Shannon Buck and sophomore Justin Lau won at No. 1, defeating Ul;I Kiendl and Federico Barton, 9-8, while seniors Tyler McClung and Chris Dong beat USF's tandem of Andreas Maroldt and Marc Jager, 8-6, at No. 2.
    Buck put Air Force up 2-0 with an easy 6-1, 6-2 win over Juan Barrigan at No. 1 singles, but the only other match the Falcons captured was at No. 6, where sophomore Robby Alexander handed Dane Vernon a 6-0, 6-1 defeat.
    South Florida won the other four singles matches, all in straight sets, to claim their third victory in a row.
    Air Force wraps up non-conference play on Tuesday, April 5 when it hosts the University of Denver at 1 p.m. at the Academy.
