The Air Force men's tennis team wraps up its 2008 home schedule this week with three matches at the Academy. The Falcons will host Rhode Island on Tuesday, March 18 at 1:30 p.m., Northern Arizona on Thursday, March 20 at 2 p.m., and UMKC on Saturday, March 22 at 9 a.m. Seniors Greg Ferry and Harrison Maloy will be playing their final matches at the Academy.
Air Force improved to 9-6 this season by winning two of three matches last weekend at home. The Falcons fell to Montana, 4-3, then defeated Northern Colorado, 6-1, and Dayton, 7-0, to push their home record to 6-3.
Sophomore Brett Rodgers led the charge for Air Force, going a perfect 6-for-6 at No.1 singles and doubles. He won two of his three singles matches in three sets, losing the first set each time. Freshman Johnny Buckingham also posted a prefect weekend, winning all three of his singles matches at the No. 5 spot and all three matches at No. 3 doubles with sophomore Mike Gies.
Following this week's action, the Falcons will open Mountain West Conference action on Thursday, March 27 against TCU in Las Vegas, Nev.
