THIS WEEK: The Falcons travel to Sunny California to take on service academy rivals, Army West Point, in non-conference action on neutral ground at the Taube Family Tennis Center of Stanford University, Mar. 10, at 1 p.m. (PT).  The following day, Mar. 11, the Falcons will take on third-ranked Stanford for the first time in program history at 11 a.m. (PT).

LAST WEEK: Air Force experienced difficulty at home, dropping three non-conference matchups at the Indoor Tennis Courts of Cadet Gymnasium at the Academy.  The Falcons fell to Dayton University, 5-2, Bryant University, 4-3, and Weber State, 5-2.

LAST TIME AGAINST ARMY: Army defeated Air Force, 4-1, in a non-conference men’s tennis match at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich., last season.

The Black Knights opened the match by winning at No. 1 and 3 doubles to claim the opening point. Air Force evened the match at 1-1 when Mack Galvin defeated Nikita Perverzin, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 6 singles. Army West Point won the top three singles matches next to clinch the point. Michael Nguyen beat Lucas Fumagalli, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 1 while Sam Lampman beat Max Olson, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2. Grant Riechmann clinched the match with a 7-6, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles over Isaac Perez.

UP NEXT: The Falcons will take a week off of action then host Mountain West Conference foe, Fresno State, Mar. 23, in the Indoor Tennis Courts of Cadet Gymnasium, at noon. The meeting will mark the 10th time that the programs face off. The Bulldogs lead the series, 8-1.
