Air Force Beats Montana, 5-2
The Air Force men's tennis team won its fourth consecutive match and improved to 8-3 this season with a 5-2 victory over Montana Saturday at the Academy. The Falcons won two of three doubles matches and four of the six singles contests.
Seniors Shannon Buck and Trevor Johnson won their 10th straight match at No. 1 doubles, clinching the doubles point with a 9-8 victory over Jan Steenekemp and Colin Dektar. Juniors Keith Cronican and Ryan White won the No. 3 match over Josh Katz and Stuart Wing, 8-5. In singles, Buck handled Steenekemp, 6-0, 6-0, at the top spot to improve to20-4 overall and 9-0 at No. 1. Johnson defeated Wing, 6-4, 6-3, at the No. 2 position, while junior Robby Alexander won at No. 3, defeating Dektar, 6-1, 6-3. White captured the other singles win for the Falcons, defeating Brady Tommerup, 6-3, 5-7, (10-6) at the No. 6 spot.
