Falcons Host Three Matches This Weekend

    The Air Force men's tennis team returns home for three matches this weekend at the Academy. The Falcons, 5-3 on the season, will host Wichita State on Friday, Feb. 22 (2 p.m.), Idaho on Saturday, Feb. 23 (2 p.m.) and Idaho State on Sunday, Feb. 24 (12 p.m.).

    The Falcons split a pair of matches on the road last weekend. They defeated Idaho State, 4-3, and lost to Weber State, 6-1. Sophomore Brett Rodgers claimed AFA's lone victory against Weber State, winning the No. 1 match in exciting fashion, 6-7, 7-6, (10-7) over Fabio Mancaralla. Rodgers is 7-7 overall in singles this season and 4-3 at the No. 1 position.

    Senior Greg Ferry, sophomore Austin Francis and freshman Taylor Soster each captured a singles victory over Idaho State after the Falcons swept all three doubles matches, including a 9-8 victory at the top spot by Rodgers and Soster.

    Here is the complete schedule for this weekend. All matches will be played at the Academy's indoor courts, located in the Cadet Gymnasium building:

    Friday, Feb. 22
    9 a.m. -- Idaho vs. Idaho St.
    2 p.m. -- AFA vs. Wichita St.

    Saturday, Feb. 23
    9 a.m. -- Idaho St. vs. Wichita St.
    2 p.m. -- AFA vs. Idaho

    Sunday, Feb. 24
    8 a.m. -- Idaho vs. Wichita St.
    12 p.m. -- AFA vs. Idaho St.
