Lance Wilhelm Named MWC Co-Player of the Week

    Air Force sophomore Lance Wilhelm has been named the Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Co-Player of the Week, announced by the conference office. Wilhelm, who earned his first career weekly honor, shared it with Mehdi Bouras of UNLV.

    Wilhelm posted the biggest victory of his career last Sunday, defeating Arthur Surreaux of New Mexico State, ranked 75th in the country, 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 1 spot. Wilhelm also paired with freshman Andy Jackson to beat Jim Brouleau and Matej Stakne of NMSU, 8-5. Wilhelm is 5-0 at the top singles spot and has lost just one set. Meanwhile, Wilhelm and Jackson, ranked seventh in the Mountain Region, are 4-1 in doubles this season.

    The Falcons (4-1) travel to West Point, N.Y. this weekend for matches against Marist (Saturday, Feb. 19) and Army (Sunday, Feb. 20). Both matches begin at 1 p.m. (ET).
