Air Force Knocks Off Nebraska, 4-3

The Air Force Academy men's tennis team knocked off its second nationally ranked team this season on Friday, defeating 55th-ranked Nebraska, 4-3, at the Academy.
Air Force (5-0) swept the three doubles matches and split the six singles matches. Senior Tyler McClung and junior Shannon Buck, the 20th-ranked doubles team in the country, led the doubles charge by downing Jose Rivera and Adrian Szatmary, 8-3, at the No. 1 position. Senior Chris Dong and junior Trevor Johnson won at No. 2, 8-4, while sophomores Justin Lau and Robby Alexander took the No. 3 match 8-6.
Buck, ranked No. 29 in the nation in singles, gave Air Force a 2-0 lead with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles, while McClung followed suit with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Szatmary at the No. 2 position. Nebraska won at the Nos. 3, 4 and 6 positions to tie the match at 3-all.
The match came down to the No. 5 spot, where Lau came from behind to defeat Nebraska's Marcus Karner, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 to clinch the match for the Falcons.
Air Force continues play at home on Saturday against Idaho State beginning at 10 a.m. at the Academy.
