Soster and Grubbs Capture Doubles Flight at Boise State Classic

    Two Air Force doubles teams reached the finals of their respective flight Sunday as the Falcons wrapped up action at the Boise State Fall Classic. Senior Taylor Soster and freshman Alex Grubbs rallied from a 5-0 deficit to win the Orange flight, 9-7, over Geoff Hernandez and Ratan Gill of Portland, while sophomore Lance Wilhelm and freshman Andy Jackson fell in the final of the Blue flight, 8-6, to Sven Poslusny and Bryan Marchant of Utah State.

    Meanwhile, at the UNM Balloon Fiesta Classic in Albuquerque, N.M., freshman Steven Young lost a thrilling three-set match Dominic Bermudez of Northern Arizona, 7-6 (8), 6-7(4), 7-6(5). Young went 4-1 this weekend in Albuquerque.

    The Falcons are idle until the ITA Mountain Regional Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev., beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 20.
