Falcons Down Bradley, 6-1, For Fourth Straight Victory

The Air Force men's tennis team captured its fourth consecutive win Monday afternoon with a 6-1 victory over Bradley at the Academy. With the victory, Air Force is now 6-10 this season. The Falcons took a 1-0 lead by winning at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Sophomore Johnny Buckingham and freshman Will Brown were first off the court with an 8-4 triumph over Evgeny Samoylov and Michel Macara-Chuili at No. 3. Junior Brett Rodgers and sophomore Taylor Soster improved to 12-2 this spring with an 8-4 win over Richard Robertson and Mitch Osborne at the No. 2 spot. Bradley's No. 1 team of Milos Romic and Collen Fraychineard defeated Air Force's duo of junior Austin Francis and freshman Cody Hall, 8-7, winning the tiebreak 9-7. In singles, Buckingham (No. 5) and Hall (No. 2) put Air Force up 3-0 with straight set wins over Robertson and Fraychineard, respectively. Soster clinched the match with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Macara-Chuili at No. 4. Rodgers downed Samoylov in straight sets at No. 3, while Brown won the match of the day, defeating Osborne, 6-2, 5-7, 7-6(3) at No. 6. Romic defeated Francis, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1, at the top spot for Bradley's lone singles win. The Falcons will travel to the Northwest for a couple of matches during spring break. Air Force will play at Seattle University on Saturday, March 21 at 9 a.m., then at Portland State on Tuesday, March 24 at 4 p.m. Air Force 6, Bradley 1
