Falcons Shut Out CC, 7-0

The Air Force men's tennis team improved to 3-10 this season with a 7-0 victory over Colorado College Sunday afternoon at the Academy.

The Falcons opened the match by winning two of the three doubles matches. Junior James Tomlin and sophomore Alex Beaussart downed Daniel Solomon and Nate Burt, 8-6, while the freshman tandem of Stu Coston and Will Brown nailed down the point with a 9-8 victory over Brian Thirkell and Evan Jonker.

Air Force dominated the singles matches, winning five of the six in straight sets, led by junior Austin Francis winning at No. 1 singles over Solomon, 6-4, 6-1. Brown (No. 2), Beaussart (No. 4), senior Kyle Epperson (No. 5) and Coston (No. 6) also won in straight sets. Tomlin was stretched to three sets byThirkell at the No. 3 spot, 5-7, 6-2, (10-2).

The Falcons host a pair of matches on Sunday, March 15 against Washington College (9 a.m.) and Metro State (1 p.m.)
