U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. – Air Force tallied the doubles match point and a singles point in the 5-2 non-conference loss to Weber State, Monday afternoon, at the Indoor Courts of Cadet Gymnasium, USAFA. The Falcons’ overall record drops to 9-5.
Paul Hendrix and Jamie Bautista tallied Air Force’s first victory of the day with a 6-4 win over a Chen/Li in the No. 3 position, followed up with Tadhg Collins’ and Luke Sanderson’s win, 6-2, over Werner/Walkusz at No. 2. Weber State won in the top doubles position.
Weber State had a strong showing in singles, winning five-of-six positions. Freshman Sean McKendree posted the Falcons’ only win in singles action with a straight-set victory over Bo-Han Li, 6-2, 6-1, in the No. 6 position.
Next week, The Falcons travel to Sunny California to take on service academy rivals, Army West Point, on neutral ground at Stanford University, Mar. 10. The following day, Mar. 11, the Falcons will take on Stanford at 11 a.m. (PT).
