U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force cruised by UC Riverside, 6-1, in non-conference men’s tennis action, Sunday afternoon at the Indoor Tennis Courts of Cadet Gymnasium. The win propels the Falcons to a 9-2 overall record and their best start since 2014.
Paul Hendrix and Jamie Bautista were the first to put points on the board with a 6-2 win over Abdallah and Ju in the No. 3 position. Tadhg Collins and Mack Galvin followed up by securing the match point in the No. 1 position with a 6-4 win over Kilchherr and Chung.
Galvin was the first to tally a singles point, beating Gilbert Chung, 6-3, 6-1, in the No. 3 position. Luke Sanderson followed up in the fourth position with a straight-set win, 6-2, 6-3, over Benjamin Kilchherr. Isaac Perez clinched the match with the fourth team point as he beat Pawel Jankowiak, 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 2 position. Patrick Sklenka defeated Kyle McCann in the No. 1 position, 7-6 (6), 6-4. Hendrix added the Falcons final point of the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the sixth position.
The Falcons will host their final non-conference home stand with matches against Dayton, Bryant and Weber State, next week.
