U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. - Air Force won two of three matches in doubles and four of six in singles to secure a 5-2 victory over Richmond, Friday evening, in the Indoor Tennis Courts of Cadet Gymnasium, USAFA. The Falcons improve to 8-2 with the win.
Richmond snagged the first victory of the day with a 6-4 win in the No. 1 doubles position. The Falcons responded with a win Paul Hendrix and Jamie Bautista's 6-4 win in the third position. With a match point on the line, Isaac Perez and Patrick Sklenka stepped up and brought home the 7-6 win to secure the point.
Perez secured the first point in singles action with a 6-3, 6-1, win over Karlawish in the second position. Richmond found themselves on top in the No. 1 position yet again as Sklenka fell, 6-3, 6-4. Mack Galvin and Luke Sanderson secured a point apiece with straight-set wins at positions three and four, respectively. Hendrix was next to tally point in position six as he bested Evans in straight-sets, 6-1, 6-4. McKendree came up short in the fifth position, yielding the final point of the match to Richmond.
The Falcons return to action on Sunday as they host UC Riverside in non-conference action at 9 a.m., at the Indoor Tennis Courts of Cadet Gymnasium.
