Falcons Complete Four-Match Sweep With Win Over Idaho State

    The Air Force men's tennis team completed its sweep of four matches this weekend with a 6-1 victory over Idaho State Sunday at the Academy. Air Force, which won one doubles match and two singles matches by default, improved to 4-5 this season.

    The Falcons' No. 2 doubles team of freshmen Mike Youn and Austin Francis defeated Jeremy Atkin and Jordan Laesk, 8-2, while Air Force won the No. 3 match by default to claim the doubles point.

    Only four singles matches were played and the Falcons won three of them. Youn dropped the No. 1 match in three sets to Masimba Ruivo, 4-6, 6-2, (10-4), but the Falcons won the other three. Francis won at No. 2, defeating Atkin, 6-3, 4-6, (10-7), while senior Ryan White and junior Greg Ferry won in straight sets at No. 3 and 4, respectively.

    The Falcons return to action next Saturday, Feb. 17 when they host the University of Denver.
