Falcons Win at Northern Colorado 5-2

    The Air Force men’s tennis team improved to 4-1 this spring with a 5-2 victory over Northern Colorado Sunday morning in Greeley, Colo. The Falcons won two of the three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches.

    Junior Grant Taylor and freshman Lucas Fumagalli won the No. 3 doubles match, 6-1, over Jordan Loughnan and Jeff Carlson at the No. 3 spot and senior Alex Grubbs and sophomore Jack McCullers clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 victory over Mitchel Knight and Eric Schuermans at No. 2.

    In singles play, McCullers and senior Steven Young gave Air Force a 3-0 lead with a straight sets victory at No. 3 and No. 2, respectively. Grubbs clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Michael Moya at No. 4. Sophomore Andrew Parks also won for the Falcons at No. 6.

    Air Force hosts two matches on Saturday, Feb. 8 against Metro State at 8 a.m ., and North Dakota at noon.
