Gonzaga Edges Air Force 4-3

Gonzaga's men's tennis team won the last three singles matches to rally and defeat 4-3 Sunday at the Academy. The Falcons, who fell to 0-6 this season, won the doubles point and at No. 1 and 2 singles. Gonzaga improved to 3-1.
Air Force won the doubles point for just the second time this season. Junior Austin Francis and Cody Hall won the No. 1 match, 8-5, over Stefan Fedderson and Conor Feeney, while junior Brett Rodgers and sophomore Taylor Soster won, 8-4, over Roman Dojcak and Scott Sullivan.
Sullivan evened the score at 1-all with a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Soster at No. 4 singles, but Francis won a three-set match, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 over Fedderson at the top spot. Hall then put the Falcons up 3-1 with a tough, 7-6, 7-5 win at No. 3 over Dojcak.
Unfortunately for the Falcons, Gonzaga took the last three singles matches, beginning with Feeney earning a 7-5, 7-5 win over Rodgers at No. 3. Jake Davis tied the match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Mike Geis at No. 5 and Tomasz Falkowski clinched the match for the Bulldogs with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Johnny Buckingham at No. 6.
The Falcons host Montana State next Friday, Feb. 13 at noon.
