Falcon Men's Tennis Heads to ITA Regionals

Air Force Men's Tennis is sending eight Falcons to BYU to compete for slots in the ITA Fall National Tournament

2016-17 | SOPHOMORE: Registered an overall singles record of 16-21 with a 6-8 mark in tournament matches and a 10-13 mark in dual meet matches … posted a 1-6 mark in conference singles matches … posted an overall doubles mark of 17-19 … went 9-5 in tournament doubles matches and 8-14 in dual meet doubles matches … posted a 1-6 mark in conference doubles … Cadet Summer Leadership Immersion Program … completed Operations Air Force at Moody AFB, Georgia, with Combat Search and Rescue unit … served as Expeditionary Survival and Escape Training cadre over the summer.

2015-16 | FRESHMAN: Posted a 20-20 singles mark to lead the team in total wins … went 11-10 in duals and 9-10 in tournament play … went 2-4 in conference singles matches … went 12-18 overall in doubles, including a 9-5 mark in duals and a 3-13 record in tournament play.

Before Air Force: Four year letterman in tennis … three time state champion ... two time all-area San Antonio ... three time state team champion and three time all-state selection … placed 19th in the National High School Tournament … member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, National Spanish Honor Society and student council.

Personal: Son of Jose and Maria Perez ... has a sister … cadet squadron 20 … majoring in legal studies with a minor in Spanish … completed survival training last summer … also completed the Jump program and had five solo skydives … active in his squadron as the academic clerk where he helps cadets maximize their academic potential … plans a future in human intelligence ... started playing tennis at age 10 ... also likes to play soccer and basketball … greatest moment in his athletic career was earning clinching point in the win over Fresno State … favorite food is gushers ... favorite subject is history … person in history he’d most like to meet in Genghis Khan … advice to young people is there’s only one chance, so why not take risks … favorite book is the Girl Who Could Fly.
