USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force senior Benjamin Gunn has named Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, announced Tuesday night by the conference office. This is Gunn's third career MWC Swimmer of the Week honor.
Gunn, a product of Gainesville, Ga., led Air Force to dual meet wins over Arizona State and Grand Canyon last week. The senior took first place in each of the five individual events he swam in and also competed in two winning relay events. In the Falcons' 163.5-93.5 victory over ASU, Gunn swam on the gold medal 200-yard medley relay (1:31.89), and collected first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.94), 200-yard backstroke (1:52.62) and 200-yard IM (1:53.22) events. In Air Force's 164-92 win against Grand Canyon, Gunn added to his gold medal collection with first-place efforts in the 200-yard fly (1:53.89) and 400-yard IM (4:07.98). He also aided the Falcons' winning performance in the 200-yard medley relay (1:35.79).
Joining Gunn in MWC men's swimming honors was Wyoming senior Kyle Bogner, who was named men's Diver of the Week.
