USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force senior Benjamin Gunn has named Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, announced today by the conference office. This is Gunn's first career MWC swimmer of the week honor.
Gunn, a product of Gainsville, Ga., led Air Force to a 3-0 mark at the Mesa State College Intermountain Shootout in Grand Junction, Colo. The senior took first place in each of the five individual events he swam in. Gunn opened the meet with victories in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.19) and 50-yard butterfly (22.71). He followed suit on Day two with first-place finishes in the 200 fly (1:54.49), 200-yard individual medley (1:54.69) and 200-yard backstroke (1:53.74). Gunn also swam on three Falcon relays that all came in second place (200-yard medley relay, 1:33.79; 200-yard free relay, 1:26.45; 800-yard free relay, 7:02.90).
