Air Force Releases 2011-12 Men's Swimming & Diving Schedule

    USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's swimming & diving released its 2011-12 schedule, announced today by head coach Rob Clayton. The Falcons open its regular season Oct. 7 in Grand Junction.

    The Falcons start the season Oct. 7-8 in Grand Junction, swimming against Mesa State, BYU and Utah.

    Air Force opens its newly refurbished Cadet Natatorium Oct. 28 against Adams State, Colorado Mines and Mesa State.

    The Falcons have a busy November, with the swim team competing in four different events, while the diving team heads to two invitationals. The swim team heads to Stockton, Calif., to compete against Pacific, Cal State Bakersfield and Seattle Univ., Nov. 4-5. That same weekend, the diving team heads to Los Angeles for the USC Invite.

    Air Force hosts Utah on Nov. 11 and then heads up to Laramie, Wyo., to take on Wyoming the following day, Nov. 11. The swim team wraps-up the month at the Arena Invitational, Nov. 17-19, while the diving team heads to the Wildcat Invitational Nov. 18-20.

    Several members of the team will head to the U.S. Nationals Dec. 1-3 in Atlanta, Ga.

    After taking the rest of December off from competition, the Falcon resume action in 2012, hosting three consecutive meets to start the year. Air Force hosts BYU on Jan. 13, Wyoming Jan. 20 and Denver Jan. 21. The diving program will also host the Falcon Diving Invitational Jan. 27-28. The Falcons conclude the month at UNLV Jan. 28.

    The Falcon diving team wraps up regular season competition, hosting Utah Feb. 10.

    Air Force will compete at the MPSF (Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) Championships Feb. 15-18. Several Falcons will also compete at the Colorado Senior Open, Feb. 24-26, in Denver.

    Shortly thereafter, the swimmers will head to the Ohio State Grand Prix in Columbus, Ohio, March 9-11. The NCAA Zone E Diving Regionals are slated that same weekend, March 8-10, at the Academy. The NCAA Championships are March 22-24, in Seattle, Wash.
