Air Force Releases 2009-10 Swimming & Diving Schedules

USAFA, Colo. - A season-opening appearance at the Pacific Invitational, an annual trip to the prestigious Nike Cup and an always challenging conference slate highlight the 2009-10 Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving schedules.
The Air Force divers will be the first to see action during the 2009-10 season, as they head to Annapolis, Md., to scrimmage against service academy rival Navy on Oct. 2. The swimmers then begin their season Oct. 16-17, when they head to Stockton, Calif., for the Pacific Invitational.
The Falcons' home slate begins Oct. 23, when Air Force hosts Mountain West Conference rival TCU in dual action, while the women host a conference quad-meet the next day, welcoming Colorado State, New Mexico and San Diego State to Cadet Natatorium. The Falcons will also host Mesa State on Oct. 30 to wrap up the first month of competition.
The Air Force divers will be busy in November, visiting the USC Diving Invitational in Los Angeles, Calif., Nov. 6-7, followed by a trip to the Arizona Diving Invitational Nov. 20-22. Meanwhile, the swimmers will take their annual trip to the Nike Cup, scheduled for Nov. 19-21 in Long Beach, Calif.
After taking the month of December off from competition, the divers will wrap up their winter training on Jan. 2 in Tucson, Ariz., while the swimmers will compete against Florida International in a relay meet. The Falcons then visit in-state rival Denver on Jan. 9, followed by a conference meet at UNLV on Jan. 16.
Air Force wraps up its regular season at home, first hosting BYU and Utah on Jan. 21 and 23, respectively. The Falcons then bring their annual Air Force Diving Invitational to Cadet Natatorium Jan. 29-30, before hosting Wyoming on Feb. 6 for the final dual meet of the season.
The MWC Championships, slated to be held Feb. 24-27, will once again take place in Oklahoma City, Okla. Shortly thereafter, both the men's and women's swimmers will head to the American Short Course Championships in Austin, Texas, March 4-6. The NCAA Zone E Diving Regionals are slated for March 11-13 in Austin, Texas, followed by the women's NCAA Championships in West Lafayette, Ind., March 18-20 and the men's NCAA Championships in Columbus, Ohio, March 25-27.
