USAFA, Colo. - Air Force swimmer Eric Robinson has been named an honorable mention Scholar All-American by the CSCAA (College Swimming Coaches Association of America). Scholar All-Americans are selected on the basis of their performance in both the pool and classroom.

To be selected to the All-American team, swimmers must qualify for the NCAA Championship meet and achieve a GPA of 3.50 or higher. Meanwhile, Honorable Mention selections must achieve a NCAA consideration time and 3.50 or higher GPA.

Robinson achieved an NCAA `B' standard as a member of the Falcons' school record-breaking 800 freestyle relay team. The mark of 6:32.32, which was good for second place at the 2009 Mountain West Conference Championships, shaved more than two seconds off the previous school record.

In the classroom, Robinson, a rising junior, has compiled a 3.98 GPA as a mathematics major. His status as a CSCAA honorable mention Scholar All-American is the latest in a crop of academic accolades for the Lakewood, Colo., native. Robinson was also named a first-team ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District selection by CoSIDA, while earning MWC Academic All-Conference and Scholar-Athlete honors.
