Five Air Force Swimmers/Divers Earn Mountain West Scholar-Athlete Honors

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Five members of the Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned Mountain West Scholar-Athlete honors, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon. The men's squad had two athletes earn MW Scholar-Athlete and the women's team had three MW Scholar-Athletes.
On the men's side, senior Eric Robinson (Lakewood, Colo.) earned his fourth MW Scholar-Athlete honor. Robinson recently graduated from the Academy with a 3.98 grade-point average with a major in Mathematics. Junior Cody Deacon (Portland, Ore.) earned his third MW Scholar-Athlete honor. Deacon currently maintains a 3.83 GPA and is majoring in Aeronautical Engineering.
For the women, senior Kaeli Kluesner (Sr., Denver, Colo.) earned her third MW Scholar-Athlete honor to lead the Falcons. Kluesner recently graduated from the Academy with a 3.57 GPA with a major in Legal Studies.
Sophomore Alexandra Trobe (Pittsforld, N.Y.) earned her second MW Scholar-Athlete honor. Trobe currently maintains a 3.57 GPA and is majoring in Political Science. Freshman Rachel Kennedy (Wasilla, Alaska) earned her first MW Scholar-Athlete honor. Kennedy maintains a 3.88 GPA and is majoring in Biology.
A total of 581 student-athletes were honored, including 43 individuals who have achieved a 4.00 or higher cumulative grade point average over two or more terms, and 65 student-athletes who were recognized in multiple sports. This year's mark shattered the previous league record of 549 honorees, set in 2008-09. The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the Conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in an NCAA-sponsored sport.
