Eighteen Air Force Swimmers/Divers Earn Academic All-MW Honors

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Eighteen members of the Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named Academic All-Mountain West selections, as announced by the league Monday afternoon. The men's squad placed nine individuals on the academic all-conference team as did the women's team.
On the men's side, seniors Nathaniel Gilbert (River Falls, Wis.) and Eric Robinson (Lakewood, Colo.) led the way with their fourth selections to the academic all-conference team. Senior Tom Hansen (Berkeley Heights, N.J.) and Junior Cody Deacon (Portland, Ore.) earned academic All-MWC honors for the third time, while sophomores Brent White (Loveland, Colo.) and Paul Young (Lakeville, Minn.) were all named to the team for the second time. Senior Benjamin Gunn (Gainesville, Ga.) and freshmen Peter Cialkowski (Allentown, Pa.) and Alex Pecci (Oviedo, Fla.) were all named to the team for the first time.
For the women, senior Kaeli Kluesner (Sr., Denver, Colo.) earned academic all-conference honors for the fourth-straight year to lead the Falcons. Juniors Alison Ceranski (Marinette, Wis.), Elvira Chiccarelli (Panama City Beach, Fla.), Lauren Delaney (Panama City, Fla.) each receive the third academic All-MWC accolades of their careers, while junior Cassie Fletcher (Durham, N.C.) and sophomores Rosie Mayou (Derby, Kan.) and Alexandra Trobe (Pittsforld, N.Y.) all earn academic all-conference recognition for the second time. Freshmen Alivia Berg (Groton, Conn.) and Rachel Kennedy (Wasilla, Alaska) earned academic all-conference recognition for the first time.
A total of 757 student-athletes were named to the spring 2011 Academic All-Mountain West team. Spring sports include baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's track and field.
Air Force posted 60 student-athletes to the spring 2011 Academic All-MWC team. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
