Falcons Compete Saturday at Indianapolis Grand Prix

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Nine Air Force swimmers competed Saturday at the Indianapolis Grand Prix, which is being swam at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI. Junior Matt Millikin was Air Force's top swimmer Saturday, placing 25th in the men's 200 meter backstroke prelims.

    Millikin just missed out on making the finals, with a time of 2:10.77. Freshman Angus MacDonald also swam the 200 back, placing 42nd with a time of 2:15.06.

    Sophomore Kaleb Jenkins swam well for AFA in the 200 individual medley, placing 37th with a time of 2:12.49.

    The Falcons had four swimmers in the 100 free. Sophomore Tim Martinelli led the way, placing 63rd with a time of 53.40. He was followed by freshman Paul Leonhardt in 73rd (54.10), sophomore Anthony Chiaro in 82nd (54.37) and MacDonals in 104th (56.13).

    Freshman Gabby Aranda was team's fastest swimmer on the women's side, placing 43rd in the 200 IM with a time 2:28.63.

    Cassie Fletcher and Erin Bleyl swam the 100 free, with Fletcher placing 88th (1:01.24) and Bleyl taking 104th (1:02.49).
