Jan. 10, 2018

THIS WEEK:  The Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving teams host a pair of multi-team meets, Jan. 12-13. The meets, originally scheduled for the Academy's Cadet Natatorium, have been moved to Colorado College due to repairs at the Cadet Natatorium. The women will face Seattle, Northern Colorado and Incarnate Word. The men will square off against Incarnate Word and conference rival Seattle. Friday's meet begins at 3 p.m. while Saturday's meet starts at 11 a.m.  Due to the change in venue, the live stream of the meet will not be available.

LAST SEASON: Last season, both the men's and women's teams defeated Seattle in a meet hosted at the Academy. The women also defeated Northern Colorado last season.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE: Both teams have been idle since Dec. 22, for winter training and a dual in southern California. This weekend's meets begin a stretch of three straight weeks of competition for both teams. The teams will compete at UNLV on Jan. 20 and will return to Colorado the following week. The women's team (5-6 overall this season) will face Colorado State on Friday, Jan. 26, in Fort Collins. Both the men's and women's teams will face Denver on Saturday, Jan. 27, at Colorado College.

CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS AHEAD: Following the Denver meet, both teams will prepare for their respective conference championships. The women's team will compete in the annual Mountain West Conference championships, Feb. 14-17, in San Antonio, Texas. The men, winners of the last two Western Athletic Conference championships, will travel to Houston, Texas to defend those WAC titles, Feb. 21-24.

ABOUT THE MEN: The men's team posted a 5-2 dual meet record in the first half and had four swims crack the top 10 all-time at the Academy. Junior Steffen Mount posted four NCAA "B" cuts (50 free, 100 free, 200 free and 100 fly) .
