Air Force Mens' Swimming Competes At FAU Invitational

    BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Air Force men's swim team scored a win over Cincinnati at the Florida Atlantic Invitational Saturday at the FAU Aquatic Center.

    The Falcons defeated Cincinnati 182-80. In addition, the Falcons lost head-to-head scoring vs. Denver (215.5-64.5) and FAU (189-91).

    The Falcons posted eight top five finishes on the day, led by junior Coady Deacon. Deacon was AFA's lone swimmer to win an overall event, taking first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 57.85. Deacon also swam well in the 200 breast, taking fifth with a time of 2:11.36.

    The Falcons also swam well in the sprint-free events. Freshman Micah Newmann placed second in the 100 free with a time of 46.91 and junior Cole Smith placed third in the 50 free with a time of 21.79.

    Other top five finishes came from sophomore Matt Millikin, who took fifth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.38, and junior Nate Roesler, who took fifth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.23.

    The Falcons took third in the 200 medley relay and fourth in the 200 free relays.

    Air Force's next meet is Jan. 14 with a meet vs. Denver and UNLV in Denver.
