Air Force Divers Wrap Up Day One at Wildcat Invitational

    TUCSON, Ariz. - Led by senior David Arlington (Eagle River, Alaska), the Air Force diving team completed the first day of competition at the Wildcat Diving Invitational, hosted by Arizona.

    Arlington captured seventh place on the 1-meter springboard, posting a mark of 274.45 in the finals. He earned his spot in the top eight after registering a score of 281.20 in the morning preliminaries.

    Meanwhile, classmate Kyle Van Valkenburg (Tucson, Ariz.), who narrowly missed the finals cut after scoring a 272.25 in the prelims, recorded a mark of 260.10 to take seventh place in the consolation finals.

    Also competing for the Falcons on Friday were Cheyne Clark (So., Bainbridge Island, Wash.), who posted a mark of 184.50 in the prelims, Beau Riebe (Fr., Mercer Island, Wash.), who scored a 169.70, and Nathaniel Gilbert (Jr., River Falls, Wis.), who registered a mark of 166.50.

    Results from the women's 3-meter competition, which featured Air Force senior Chelsea Tompkins, are currently unavailable.

    The second day of competition at the Wildcat Diving Invitational, which will feature the men's 3-meter springboard and women's 1-meter springboard, begins tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. (PT).
