Air Force Men's Swimming Finishes Fourth at Arena Invite

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Air Force men's swim team completed action finishing in fourth place at the Arena Invitational, hosted by the UC San Diego at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool on Saturday. The Falcons had four swims that cracked the AFA top 10 lists.
Air Force nearly set two school records with the second-fastest swims in school history in the 100 free and 200 back. Senior Matt Millikin placed fourth overall in the 200 back with a prelim time of 1:45.85, which was .28 seconds shy of the school record. Sophomore Ryan Dunne took fourth in the 100 free with a finals time of 44.47, which was .68 seconds shy of the AFA record.
Junior Angus MacDonald also swam well for the Falcons, placing eighth in the 200 back. His prelim time of 1:48.15 is the ninth-fastest time in school history. Air Force also got a top 10 swim in the 1650 free by Alex Strom. Strom swam a time of 15:45.34 which is 10th fastest at AFA.
Air Force's top swimmer in the 1650 was sophomore Max Evans-Nolan, who placed eighth with a time of 15:39.78. Sophomore Sam Wieser was the top Falcon in the 200 breast, taking 12th with a time of 2:04.48. Freshman Sean Ledford was the top Falcon in the 200 fly, placing 15th with a prelim time of 1:52.90.
Air Force concludes its 2012 Fall season. The Falcons return to competition Jan. 18, 2013, hosting North Dakota, Seattle and Wyoming.
