Air Force Men's Swimming & Diving Narrowly Edged By Utah, 158-142

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force men's swimming & diving team dropped a 158-142 dual meet to Utah Thursday night at the Cadet Natatorium. The Falcons (8-4) had seven first-place swims on the day.
Senior Cody Deacon led Air Force with three wins on the day. Deacon won the 100 yard breast (58.06) and the 200 breast (2:11.47). In addition, the senior was part of the winning 200 medley relay to open the meet. Deacon combined with Angus MacDonald, Paul Leonhardt and Micah Newmann to win win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:33.60.
The Falcons also had winning swims in the 200, 500 and 1000 free in addition to the 200 fly.
Air Force went 1-2 in the 200 free, with Tim Martinelli placing first (1:42.95) and Corydon Butler taking second (1:43.18). The Falcons also went 1-2 in the 1000 free, with Max Evans-Nolan taking first (9:49.70) and Sam Sloan taking second (10:02.91).
Butler won the 500 free for AFA, with a winning time of 4:47.27. Leonhardt won the 200 fly with a time of 1:54.49.
Alex Pecci was the Falcons' top diver in both diving events. Pecci took third in the 3m springboard with 251.10 points and fourth in the 1m with 272.48 points.
Air Force returns to action Friday, Nov. 11, at Wyoming.
